Innovative Design Cuts Operational Downtime

Greendale, IN, April 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Omni Technologies, Inc. together with a major scrubbing cleanser manufacturer partnered on a project to cut operational downtime. A taper end design was applied to the filler sleeves, produced by Omni Technologies, resulting in a 97% uptime improvement. Operational efficiency was also improved using Omni’s custom molding processes.

End users experienced downtime using stainless steel sleeves on a high-speed rotary volumetric granule filler machine. Misshaped or damaged packages caused 60 stops per shift (approximately 3 minutes per stop). Molding the sleeve with a taper end allowed the cans to insert effortlessly. This resulted in 5 stops per shift (1 minute per stop). A secondary benefit provided by Omni was color coding the change parts to allow easier changeover part identification.
