)-- Kieran Shanahan, principal of Shanahan Law Group, has announced that Reef C. Ivey II, an attorney at the firm and chairman of the N.C. State Alumni Club, Inc., was named to The State Club’s founding board of directors. The State Club will serve as the gathering place for NCSU alumni and friends. The board of directors will be an integral part of the decision making process and overall maintenance of The State Club.
“I consider it a great privilege to serve on the founding board of directors,” said Ivey. “I am grateful for the opportunity to make The State Club the premier location for dining and entertaining among NC State alumni and friends.”

Reef C. Ivey, II specializes in business, government affairs and international matters. His practice experience includes domestic and international business transactions, corporate, financial and business start-up matters, public policy, agribusiness, major multi-state litigation management and special Trusts and Estates. Ivey has several years of experience with national and regional law firms and has taught corporations and corporate finance at Rutgers University School of Law, Pace University School of Law and the University of North Carolina School of Law. He serves as a legal advisor to several North Carolina companies as well as serving in many legal and financial positions for major companies. He is the president of the Reef C. Ivey, II Foundation, which provides gifts and grants for projects directly related to children and young adults. The foundation provides scholarships at University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University, an endowed chair at University of North Carolina School of Law, and aids FCA summer camps, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, Salvation Army, the Raleigh Rescue Mission, and Boy Scouts of America among others. Reef currently serves on boards for the Centennial Authority for the RBC Center, the Executive Committee of Economic Development Coalition 2000 and the Board of Directors for The State Club. He is a member of North Carolina Bar Association. Reef is admitted to practice in North Carolina, New York, Illinois and Oklahoma as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and the U.S. Supreme Court.
