New Scorpion Performance ‘Sales-Tech Team’ Rockets to Front

Fort Lauderdale, FL, April 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Scorpion Performance, Inc. (http://www.scorpionperformance.com), an American manufacturer of precision parts for high performance engines, today announced that the company’s new high-power ‘Sales-Tech Team’ has already sold more products in just one month than most salespeople sell in a year. In fact, one new order alone was for more than a million pieces. And according to Scorpion’s COO and VP Sales, Luke Whalen, “That’s just the beginning. Scorpion is going to be the biggest high performance parts manufacturer this world’s ever seen.”

While most manufacturers have separate positions for sales people and technical advisors, Scorpion Performance is winning the battle in the high performance automotive aftermarket engine parts industry by combining the two positions, and then filling them with the best cross-trained experts in the country.

The new ‘Team’ is headed-up by Gordon Johnstone, Scorpion’s new Sales/Technical Support Manager. Johnstone brings 45 years of racing experience and worked for 16 years at Crane Cams in Daytona Beach, Florida. While at Crane, Johnstone rose through the ranks with positions including Tech Support Consultant, Production Supervisor and Research & Development Manager. Johnstone has developed racing engines for many different types of vehicles including drag cars, circle track cars, offshore powerboats and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Also included in the Team are Ross Shelton and Rick Ulrich, both former Crane Cams staffers. Shelton comes to Scorpion with over 30 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket parts business, including 18 years at Texas Performance where he was the lead sales person. Shelton then worked for 12 years in sales and customer service at Crane Cams where he sold to the largest high performance parts distributors and handled problem solving for customer issues such as accounting, logistics and technical questions.

Rick Ulrich’s career includes 13 years as a member of the offshore race engine division at Mercury Marine, the world’s largest manufacturer of marine propulsion systems. From there, Ulrich spent three years in Miami, Florida where he built marine racing engines and ran the famous Apache Marine race team. For the next 21 years, Ulrich worked at Crane Cams first as a Tech Support Consultant, then Race Shop Manager and finally Marine & Motorcycle Product and Sales Manager.

The addition of these seasoned professionals comes at a strategic time for Scorpion Performance. According to Scott Reynolds, Scorpion’s Vice President of Marketing, “Scorpion Performance is tripling its output capacity with its new manufacturing facility in Ocala, Florida. Our new high-power ‘Sales-Tech Team’ will enable us to sell millions of new rocker arms, lifters, pushrods, valves and valve springs.”
