MWK Hosts Trip to See Mixed-Substrate Digesters in Action

Rensselaer, NY, April 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Farmers, financiers, environmentalists, policy makers, regulators, and others have expressed an interest in participating in a trip to Europe to see MWK co-digesters in action. So, MWK will organize another trip during the summer of this year.

Participants will be able to see how mixed-substrate digesters generate a reliable supply of energy year-round, at name-plate capacity, and how the agricultural community is able to thrive while playing a vital role in a renewable energy portfolio in a sustainable manner that is good for the environment. The participants will be able to speak with the owners and operators directly and will have access to all related facilities.

“Today’s mixed-substrate and waste-to-energy anaerobic digesters create greater amounts of energy than manure-only facilities. With the right design and support services, these facilities can play a vital role in a state’s renewable energy portfolio, especially since the gas created can be stored,” states Sylke Chesterfield, Director, U.S. Operations for MWK Biogas North America Corp. “MWK’s systems are reliable and highly efficient, and this trip presents an opportunity to see how these robust anaerobic digesters are different than what has been implemented in the United States to date.”

Tentatively, the trip is planned for end of July/beginning of August. Interested parties should contact Ms. Chesterfield at their earliest convenience to express their intent. The costs for the trip will be determined based on the number of participants, as room rates, bus rental, flight prices, meals, etc. would be dependent on volume.
