Color Wars, Stilt Walkers, Foam Pits, Wacky Science Experiments…Broward County’s Summer Day Camp- Camp Sagemont is Ready for Another Action Packed Season

Camp Sagemont, a summer day camp serving Broward County, opens its doors for its 11th season in June 2009. Camp Sagemont takes residence on Weston’s Sagemont School campus each summer.

Weston, FL, April 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- This summer day camp likes to borrow from the sleep away camp experience. Campers are organized by age and are assigned “Bunks” as their home base for their full day programming.

During each of the four-week sessions, there will be the annual camp wide Color War where the campers are divided into two teams and have themed field competitions, games and activities. This year, kids better watch out because it could get messy! Color Wars is never pre-announced so campers are kept in suspense until the day they “break the color war”.

Camp Sagemont’s July 4th celebration is another camp tradition. There will be a barbeque lunch, water slides of all sizes, foam pits, snow cones, and all American themed activities. Then, on July 31, Camp Sagemont will host its camp carnival complete with games, prizes, a juggler and stilt walkers. It will be a day filled with fun and zany surprises.

This summer, the younger campers are scheduled to participate in several shows including a clown show, reptile show, and puppet show. During weekly field trips, 1st through 3rd graders will be visiting Laser Quest, and The Fishing Hall of Fame.

The Camp Sagemont Travel Campers will be all over South Florida this season. They will be visiting TY Park, Venetian Pool, Rapids Water Park, Key Biscayne, a rock climbing venue, a go-carting location and a Marlins game.

In addition to traditional day camp, there is a selection of sports camps, specialty camps, summer school and mini post-season camp offered on a weekly schedule.

Edwin Cruz, Camp Sagemont Director says, “There will be a lot of activity on campus. Drama productions, an art show, crazy science experiments, and video game competitions. When our campers return home in the afternoon, they are tired. They have just enough time to rest up for their next fun-filled day.”

Camp Sagemont is proud to serve Greater Fort Lauderdale including the neighboring cities of Weston, Sunrise, Plantation, Davie, Southwest Ranches, Cooper City, Pembroke Pines, Miramar and Coral Springs. Camp Sagemont is a division of The Sagemont School. A college preparatory school located in the heart of Weston. Visit Camp Sagemont's Web site at www.campsagemont.com.
