Audio Detection Means Two Juveniles Arrested

Snohomish, WA, April 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Deputies arrested two suspected Washington school vandals April 25 due to detection of threatening activity inside the school by Sonitrol Pacific’s audio security system.

Sonitrol Pacific Operator Bricia Mejia received multiple activations of the school’s audio sensors and, listening to real-time audio, heard voices inside the school. She immediately called sheriff’s deputies.

Officers arrived at the school within minutes and located two young men inside. Both juveniles were taken into custody.

Deputies believe the suspects got inside the school through an open window, then ran up and down the halls spraying fire extinguisher foam. The quick response by Mejia and sheriff’s deputies to the Sonitrol Pacific audio sensor detection kept the suspects from inflicting further damage.
