Mayaro Now Has Its Own Website, Mayaro.com

Mayaro, Trinidad and Tobago, August 01, 2006 --(PR.com)-- A small rural fishing village called Mayaro has come up with a solution to being ignored by the mainstream media. The solution was to create its own news medium, Mayaro.com which doubles up as a community blog.

When the rural fishing village of Mayaro was finding difficulty getting into the mass media, it started its own medium, Mayaro.com

Mayaro.com provides news and announcements relevant to Mayaro and environs. These include Guayaguayare, Rio Claro and of course Galeota. The website already has over 170 registered members and thousands of hits per day. The estimated population of Mayaro is 14,000 people. However, Mayaro has a larger 'floating population' of people who visit for both work and leisure, as many have beach houses along the Mayaro coast.

Mayaro is located along the south eastern coast of the Caribbean island of Trinidad.
