Guild will be hosting the 10th Annual School Gala Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Universal CityWalk’s The Groove from 4 pm to 7 pm. The Guild is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds for The Crenshaw School and specifically will host a Silent Auction at the Gala of which the proceeds will go towards scholarships for attendance at The Crenshaw School.
“We have an amazing line up of items for our silent auction this year. Everything from a framed autographed 8 X 10 Derek Jeter Gold Glove photograph with Certificate of Authenticity to a two night stay at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes in Orlando and even an in-home sushi cooking lesson by chef Jayson Aldan of the Xushi Factory,” says Chairperson of the Guild board, Jayne Snowdale.
“The Crenshaw School is so fortunate to have such an outstanding and notable group of alumni, parents and current students that contribute to and make our Annual Gala such a success,” says school founder Brenda Crenshaw.
A limited amount of tickets will still be available at the door and anyone may stop by to bid on the auction items or to make a donation that will go directly for student scholarships.
The Crenshaw School was born out of demand for the excellent curriculum and personal attention each student received under founder, Brenda Crenshaw’s direction. Ms. Crenshaw began by establishing portable and flexible curriculums as well as tutoring services for such notable entertainers as Justin Timberlake and Lance Bass in 1995. The Crenshaw School was formed in 1999 and since has had many well-known athletes such as golfers Andy Leadbetter and Ty Tryon as alumni as well as actress Mandy Moore. Crenshaw provides a warm and nurturing environment for all types of students with teacher to student ratios of no more than 12 from grade Pre-K to Grade 12 and SAT taking requirements beginning in Kindergarten.
