Joseph Russo Appointed as the Executive Director of The National Council of Financial Literacy

Joseph Russo has been appointed as the Executive Director of The National Council of Financial Literacy. The Council is located in Charlotte NC and focuses on personal financial literacy issues.

Charlotte, NC, May 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Joseph Russo has been appointed as the Executive Director of The National Council of Financial Literacy.

The National Council felt that Mr. Russo’s experience in dealing with consumer issues, as well as his commitment to help small business and consumers is what is needed to further the goals of the National Council.

Currently, he is the host of a Cable Sponsored TV show called Financial Self Defense that addresses personal financial literacy issues and small business issues. His experience in the previous 4 recessions will prove invaluable in helping understand concepts of basic personal financial concepts such as budgeting, retirement planning and financial self defense. He is an author, journalist and has been a guest on radio stations throughout the Nation. His commentary has appeared in print media as an expert in Real Estate and consumer credit issues.

One of his notable comments is: “Young consumers know more about their cell phone text messaging plans than they do about other basic financial concepts”.

Also known as the National Council of Financial Education for Students and Consumers, the National Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on teaching students and consumer’s basic financial concepts.
