Scott D. Coloney, president the Foreclosure Response Team, has announced the appointment of Cathy Sherman Bittrick, Broker/Owner of multi-award winning RE/MAX SunQuest in Grand Rapids, as Director of the Foreclosure Response Team of Michigan.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL, May 07, 2009 --( Scott D. Coloney, president the Foreclosure Response Team, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL has announced the appointment of Cathy Sherman Bittrick, Broker/Owner of multi-award winning RE/MAX SunQuest in Grand Rapids, and 2009 Regional Vice President for the National Association of Realtors, as Director of the Foreclosure Response Team of Michigan. Bittrick will be responsible for heading up the company’s operations for the state of Michigan, assisting homeowners who may fall victim to the financial repercussions of income loss and falling property values in the state, by selling their property through a Short Sale instead of being foreclosed on.

Launched in the state of Florida over a year ago, the Foreclosure Response Team is a national sales, marketing and technology company that provides loss mitigation services and expedites the sale of residential and commercial properties facing foreclosure, with a specialization in Short Sale transactions.

The Foreclosure Response Team is made up of a coalition of real estate professionals in the areas of financial services, real estate law, credit consultation, sales & marketing and serves as an invaluable third-party resource for property owners, buyers and real estate agents alike. If approved, a Short Sale can help an owner avoid foreclosure, additional fees paid to the lender for costs associated with the foreclosure action, and terminal condition of their credit report for years to come. Through FRT’s departmentalized structure, real estate agents are relieved of the cumbersome and complicated tasks associated with the administration, management and processing of Short Sale transactions, allowing them the opportunity to focus on the sale of the home.

Bittrick is a member of the Society of Distinguished Real Estate Professionals and has obtained both the CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage) and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designations. From 2003 to 2005, Bittrick served Michigan Association of Realtors (MAR) in the positions of district director, treasurer and president-elect. She has also served as co-chair and vice-chair of the MAR Convention Task Force and chair of MAR Finance Committee. She is also involved in the REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC) and is a RPAC Golden R donor. Bittrick is a National Association of REALTORS (NAR) director and has served as a committee member on the NAR Research, Economic Issues Forum and was the Vice Chair of the NAR State Leadership Forum and chaired the Forum in 2006. She was recently nominated by Michigan and Ohio to serve as NAR Regional Vice President for 2009.

Bittrick has been a member of the Grand Rapids Association of REALTORS (GRAR) since 1974. She has served on many committees, including the association’s Legal Action Committee and director, vice president and president of the MLS Exchange. She has also served two terms on the GRAR Board of Directors and was president-elect and president. Local committees that Bittrick has chaired include the GRAR Finance Committee and Candidate Review & Development Committee. In 2004 Bittrick was named the GRAR REALTOR of the Year.

Bittrick is also an active member of the community and has served on several charitable boards and committees helping children. Bittrick is the author of the book, Something Beautiful Remains, a memoir with a path to healing through forgiveness.
