Russell Bedford Names Ahmad & Akhtar as Its Correspondent Firm in Bangladesh

Audit, accounting, consulting and taxation practice, Ahmad & Akhtar, is latest addition to Russell Bedford accounting network in Asia.

London, United Kingdom, May 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Russell Bedford International, the worldwide audit and accounting network, has announced the appointment of Ahmad & Akhtar Chartered Accountants as its correspondent firm in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The firm was established as Ahmad & Ahmad in 1986 by Jamal Uddin Ahmad. It adopted its present name in August 2008 when Mohammed Akhtar Kamal became a partner. A. T. M. Rashiduzzaman and Hashem Uz Zaman joined as partners in September 2008.

The senior partner, Jamal Uddin Ahmad, has some 40 years' professional experience. He is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is a former Deputy Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, an ex-member of the Advisory Committee of the Securities & Exchange Commission, Past President of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).

Mohammed Akhtar Kamal is also a Chartered Accountant with some 40 years' professional experience in auditing, accounting, corporate law and taxation. A. T. M. Rashiduzzaman and Hashem Uz Zaman are similarly qualified, each with over 25 years' experience.

The firm also has an operations director, Mohammed Naser MBA, who is a member of the Actuarial Society of Bangladesh and an audit director, Shekhar Kumar Halder ACA.

With 39 personnel in total, the firm has its head office in the capital, Dhaka, and branch offices in Chittagong and Khulna.

Graded as an ‘A’ class public accounting firm by the Central Bank of Bangladesh, Ahmad & Akhtar offers a broad range of accounting, audit, tax, management consulting, and valuation and litigation support services.
