Informed Careers’ Survey Finds That 30% of Executives Still Fear Losing Their Jobs

Executives are still in fear of losing their jobs and are actively seeking new positions and careers including using career coaches to aid those efforts.

Greenwich, CT, May 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The impact of the “credit crisis” is still being felt strongly by executives according to the recent Informed Careers survey with over 240 executives. About 30% of executives are currently worried about losing their own jobs and another 25% fear significant downsizing in their business. As a result, three quarters of executive are now open to consider new employers with about one third actively seeking new opportunities.

“This is a very challenging job market with many executives also considering career changes,” according to Mr. Landberg, a Senior Executive Coach with Informed Careers. As a result, about 20% of executives are currently seeking career coaching services to best respond to this situation. Those executives indicated that creating a “one minute” pitch, establishing key examples of their core competencies, creating a targeted company/position list to pursue, and honing their networking skills are the areas of greatest need. Having an experienced career “coach” and a disciplined search process results in faster and better results for most executives seeking a new position or a career change.

Informed Careers is an executive career coaching firm that provides a proven process and high impact, career coaching services for executives on a confidential, one-on-one basis to significantly enhance their job search efforts and enable successful career transitions.
