SKOLKOVO Meets Potential Students in Yekaterinburg

Moscow, Russia, May 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- It is already the second year that the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO is taking part in the Russian Economic Forum and holds several events in Yekaterinburg. During their visit to the Ural, Andrei Volkov, the school’s Dean and SKOLKOVO Infrastructure Research Centre Director Dr. Alan M. Kantrow held meetings with the regional business society, the potential students of the school and Sverdlov Region Presidential Programme graduates.

On the threshold of the May 14-forum for the Sverdlov Region top managers, the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO in collaboration with Troika Dialog Group and the Expert magazine held a seminar consecrated to new leaders in the new economic circumstances. SKOLKOVO’s Dean Andrei Volkov, SKOLKOVO Professor Alan M. Kantrow, and Andrei Sharonov, Troika Dialog Managing Director spoke at the seminar. The same day, the school organized an information session for potential SKOLKOVO full-time MBA programme candidates, where the school representatives spoke about the peculiarities and the advantages of the programme. The information session drew a lot of interest and gathered up about 40 participants.

On May 15, SKOLKOVO’s Dean Andrei Volkov acted as moderator of the XIV Russian Economic Forum round table “The Real Sector Human Resources: Whom do the Corporations Need in the New Circumstances? Modern Professional Education Model in Sverdlov Region”. The discussion featured the Minister of Sverdlov Region General and Professional Education Alexander Sobolev, the Gorky Urals State University Economic Faculty Dean Sergey Kadochnikov, Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) Scientific Productional Automation Association head – Leonid Shalimov, Yekaterinburg Polytechnic School director Andrei Kozlov, deputy head of personnel training department of FSUE “Yaslamov Productional Association “Urals Optic Mechanics Plant” Victor Irkin, Urals State University Refresher Training Institute director Yekaterina Cherepanova and deputy head of Sverdlov Railroad on Human Recourses and Social Issues Yuri Pikalin.

Also on May 15, SKOLKOVO’s Dean participated in the Sverdlov Region Presidential Programme Graduates Association TOP-Club activities. The TOP-Club members, active and energetic top managers, who understand the necessity of the Urals region development and the importance of innovative projects aimed at forming an effective economic environment, are highly interested in receiving firsthand information. Andrei Volkov’s speech at the event was consecrated to the role of education in human resource for innovational development forming.
