Mobile Giving Symposium Benefits Nonprofit Community

Guest Speaker to Focus on Raising Funds & Securing Donors Using Text Messaging.

San Francisco, CA, May 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Guide by Cell, the nation’s leading mobile technology company for cultural institutions, announced today it is presenting: ‘Raise Funds, Secure Donors, Leverage Giving!,’ a comprehensive Mobile Giving symposium targeting the nonprofit community. The symposium will feature guest speaker and Mobile Giving Foundation co-founder Christian Zimmern, as well as Give by Cell, President and Founder, Dave Asheim. The symposium will take place on Wednesday, May 27 at the Museum of the African Diaspora, MoAD in San Francisco.

In addition to presenting a general overview of mobile giving opportunities, the symposium’s purpose is to educate representatives of nonprofit organizations of every kind about the best uses of mobile giving tools and methods currently available. The symposium will be most beneficial to representatives of mid-to-large size organizations. Also, anyone responsible for organizational development, fund drives, donor outreach programs, customer/visitor retention plans, or any other similar effort to raise organization funds and revenue will find the symposium an excellent opportunity to learn innovative ways to use mobile technology to reach fund raising goals.

“Charities and non-profits of every kind are facing tough economic challenges – from museums to performing arts organizations to all charities,” said David Asheim, Guide by Cell President and Founder. “Mobile giving is a wonderful means of addressing these challenges because the technology which is used is commonly found and easy to access. The dynamic of mobile giving allows all nonprofits to reach existing donors, and a new untapped community of donors, using tools and gadgets most people carry in their pocket or purse.”

Mobile Giving Foundation co-founder Zimmern said he wants attendees of the symposium to leave the event with a comprehensive overview and understanding about mobile giving. Specifically, he said, attendees will also clearly understand how to identify if their organization can implement a mobile giving campaign cost effectively, and how to begin one.

“I think people who attend this will be surprised to find how impactful mobile giving can be, we’re looking forward to helping them meet important financial milestones and weather the economic storm with innovative mobile technology solutions that connects them better with their existing or potential donors,” commented Asheim.
