1 Piece of Advice Wins Bronze Medal at Independent Book Publisher Awards

New York, NY, May 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- 1 Piece of Advice has won a bronze medal in the Women’s Issues category at the 2009 Independent Book Publisher Awards. There were more than 4,000 entries in all categories from the U.S., Canada and eight other English-speaking countries.

1 Piece of Advice is an inspired and inspiring book written by cousins Patricia Moser-Stern and Barbara Moser that tells the stories of 48 women around the world who have blazed trails in their chosen fields despite the odds. The authors themselves are very successful in typically male-dominated fields (one runs her own supply management and procurement consulting firm, the other is an aerospace engineer).

Launched in 1996 as the first unaffiliated awards program open exclusively to independent, university, and self-published titles, the 2009 Awards will be presented to winners at a gala celebration during BookExpo America in New York on Friday, May 29th. Winners receive gold, silver and bronze medals and can place foil seals of the medal image on their book covers.

This year, Yale University Press led the medal count with five, and Indiana University Press and Kent State University Press followed with four and three medals.

1 Piece of Advice is available at better bookstores throughout North America and can be purchased from the authors’ website www.1pieceofadvice.com where you can browse its contents and read some of the stories of these remarkable women.
