Chicago native will walk from Maine to California to promote “People Helping People” and to raise money for several Charities.
Chicago, IL, May 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On July 1st 2009 Marvin White will embark on a 3,277 mile journey on foot across America to bring awareness to many charitable organizations (listed below) that help others in our difficult financial times, organizations that supports wellness causes and a new online community that allows “people to help people” earn income. Beginning in Van Buren, Maine and ending in Los Angeles, CA., the journey will symbolize what America was built upon, hard work, dedication and “People Helping People.” White says, "I believe if we shift our focus and look at what needs to be done rather than what has been done, we can help each other get back on track. I challenge America to help one another, sometimes we need to come together, roll up our sleeves and do what it takes, this is one of those times and I am committed to spreading this message. I need your help."
With millions of Americans out of work, in need of income and watching their dollars, White's goal is to raise money and bring awareness to the charitable organizations that are committed to helping. Marvin is walking the country to show his dedication with the hopes that others will help as well in their own way and do what they can. Marvin White have also created an online community that helps those out of work find work, helps consumers of services save money by using a bid system that makes pricing for any service affordable for all. This community is a way for people to help people. With many people living in tent cities and with millions that can’t find work, this is an outlet for all to find work and earn money. White will also solicit media attention in each town to heighten the awareness of these organizations dedicated to helping. White says, "I am up for the challenge to help my fellow man. We all need to support each other in these difficult times."
Marvin will be traveling light, but will be using Twitter, Youtube and FaceBook to post his progress and details of his trek and experiences. He will also be able to be tracked by an online real time GPS tracking system.

Marvin White will be looking for work along the way. He's a trained chef, trained restaurant consultant, an A+ certified computer repair tech. White is also a musician, he plays guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keyboards, piano, harmonica and trumpet. He can also teach self defense and martial arts. He's a DJ; and can do general labor and any household chores. White states that he's fluent in all of the talents and skills listed and up for the challenge. Marvin will need to help raise money and will do any work needed. "I am rolling up my sleeves, I’m here to help and make a difference. Will you do the same America?" Marvin asks.
