NAMWOLF Appeals to New York State Public Service Commission to Increase Utilization of Minority and Women-Owned Businesses

The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms appealed to Garry Brown, Chairman of New York State’s Public Service Commission to adopt a plan to increase utilization of minority and women-owned firms with the state of New York.

Milwaukee, WI, June 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) has offered to assist New York State’s Public Service Commission in adopting a plan to increase the utilization of minority and women-owned firms within the state of New York.

Yolanda Coly, Managing Director of NAMWOLF stated, “In Maryland, the Public Service Commission appealed to utility and energy companies to award at least 25% of contracts to minority and women-owned firms by 2012. Maryland has received incredible support for this plan and their efforts have been lauded throughout the country. If New York State’s Public Service Commission adopts a similar policy, they will no-doubt feel the same successes as Maryland.”

As an advocacy organization for minority and women-owned law firms, NAMWOLF has offered to discuss in detail the many opportunities in the adoption of a minority and women-owned firm utilization policy.
