TechnologyProfessional.Org Announces Phil Stevens as CIO

Atlanta, GA, June 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- TechnologyProfessional.Org, an online magazine helping technology leaders create an online presence, is proud to announce that Phil Stevens has accepted the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO).

While he was one of the early contributors and a driving force in launching the organization, Phil will take an expanded role with leadership for technology strategy, application development, data management, and 24x7x365 operations. As the CIO for a technology magazine, Phil will also play a key role in recruiting executive contributors, hiring team members, and serving as an important contributor.

The technology applications were originally developed leveraging external resources, so having a CIO will enable the organization to bring technical members onto the team, reducing cost and expanding the pace of development. The systems are built on what is sometimes called the “LAMP” platform, consisting of the Linux operating system, Apache web server, MySQL database, and PHP programming language. Content management is provided by WordPress and analytics are provided with MySQL and a variety of Google tools. The result is a business infrastructure that is inexpensive, easy to manage, and highly scalable.

Phil’s prior experience includes serving as the CIO for Education Finance Partners, then the fourth largest originator of private student loans, and as the Senior Vice President for Infrastructure and Field Services for Macy’s. His experience enabling business strategy, developing high-volume applications, supporting large-scale ecommerce, and leading mission critical operations will be important to maximizing opportunities for TechnologyProfessional.Org.

Corrie Franco, Editor for TechnologyProfessional.Org, says “Having access to Fortune 100 talent to develop the platform, which is the heart of our business, is a critical advantage. We know we will have the systems we need to do everything our business demands. This enables the leadership team, with Phil as a key member, to focus on organizational strategy to best support our contributors and expand our readership.”
