Webinar- Reducing New Graduate Turnover: Versant RN Residency

Chicago, IL, June 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Q1 Productions, a leading provider of educational programs for the healthcare industry, will be hosting a webinar presended by representatives of Versant RN Residency.

About the Webinar
Statistics show that on average, U.S. hospitals lose anywhere from 35 to 60 percent of their new nurse workforce within the first year. New graduate turnover combined with intense market competition for nurses has required hospitals to look for sustainable solutions that will optimize their efforts to recruit, develop, and retain competent and confident new nurses. In this session, they will take a close look at the Versant RN Residency program and how it has proven to be a long-term solution to the nursing shortage for hospitals all across the US.

About the Speakers
Charles Krozek, MN, RN, president and managing director of Versant created the organization in 2004 to help hospitals retain quality, dedicated nurses and reduce new graduate turnover. Versant is modeled after the successful RN Residency in Pediatrics that Krozek spearheaded at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles in 1999 and is now deployed at Adult and Pediatric acute care facilities throughout the country. Krozek is an established author and speaker and has served on the editorial advisory boards of several nursing journals, including Journal of Nursing Staff Development. Krozek also received the Association of California Nurse Leaders’ 2005 award for Excellence in Advancement of Clinical Practice in recognition of his significant contribution to nursing education and research.

Dr. Beth Ulrich brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in nursing and healthcare to Versant, holding multiple executive positions at both hospitals and large healthcare systems. Her areas of expertise include multigenerational work forces, new graduates and nurses’ views of the work environment. Prior to joining Versant, Dr. Ulrich served as senior vice president of the consulting services division for the Gannett Healthcare Group, a multimedia organization that provides information and education to registered nurses as well as healthcare consultative and research services. In appreciation of her contributions to the nursing profession, Dr. Ulrich has received numerous awards. Most recently, the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association (ANNA) awarded her with the association’s highest honor, the Outstanding Contribution to ANNA Award. She also serves as the editor of the Nephrology Nursing Journal, the journal of the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association, which represents registered nurses specializing in pre-ESRD care, dialysis and transplantation.
