NAFA Enhances Canadian Legislative Support

NAFA Fleet Management Association improves communications between its Canadian legislative representatives and the Association's Membership.

Princeton, NJ, June 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- NAFA's legislative representation in Ottawa has long been one of the most valuable and most important aspects of membership in NAFA Fleet Management Association for Canadian fleet professionals. Thanks to improved communications between the legislative team and NAFA Members, the value has just been increased. NAFA is proud to announce that communication will be easier and quicker with the introduction of a new toll-free phone number (866-935-9969) and a new centralized email address (nafa@impactcanada.com). In addition, NAFA has created a Canadian Legislative Advisory Group to help prioritize issues based on their strategic significance to NAFA.

"The addition of a toll-free number and the establishment of a Canadian Legislative Advisory Group are positive steps forward in recognizing the needs of our Canadian NAFA members and providing valuable services to them," said NAFA's Vice President for Canada, Kate Vigneau, CAFM.

"The Canadian Legislative Advisory Group will help prioritize issues and act as a sounding board for ideas and comments on regulations and legislation. This group will consist of the Chapter Chairs and Canadian Vice President and will meet by teleconference as required," added Vigneau.

The new toll-free number and email address allow NAFA Members to get answers to their questions and concerns within 24-hours, excluding weekends and public holidays.

NAFA retains the services of Impact Public Affairs (IPA) in Ottawa for the Association's Canadian legislative representation. Over the years, the benefits to NAFA's Membership has increased from its origin of providing responsible monitoring of federal legislation and regulatory activities that might impact fleets to monitoring legislation in all ten provinces and three territories; counseling and assisting in the preparation of presentations to government officials; facilitating a dialogue between NAFA representatives and Members of Parliament, Ministers, Ministers' staff, and senior officials in government departments; regular legislative updates through bi-weekly electronic bulletins; fully bilingual services; and direct dialogue between the legislative team and NAFA Members.

The improvements to NAFA's Canadian legislative services will provide NAFA's Canadian Members with better communications and more immediate answers, making this invaluable benefit even more important.

In addition to Canada, NAFA also maintains legislative representatives in Washington, DC to coordinate vital information on laws, regulations, and other government activity relating to fleets in the United States.
