Former Glen Glenn Chief and VP of Lucasfilm's Skywalker Sound Joins Audio Technology Startup.

Hollywood, CA, June 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Penteo, LLC announced today that long-time Hollywood executive Tom Kobayashi has joined Penteo, LLC as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer. “Tom’s strong background, his strategic approach to business, and his outstanding reputation in the film and television industries are legendary,” said John Wheeler, Penteo’s President. “We are very excited to have Tom on the team.”

Penteo®, an award-winning technology company, transforms stereo recordings, film and television soundtracks and live television broadcasts into true 5.1 surround sound. The company’s patent-pending technology process is featured in the new blockbuster film, “Watchmen,” Eddie Murphy's upcoming film, “A Thousand Words” for Dreamworks, and Quentin Tarantino's “Inglourious Basterds,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, 2009.

“Through the years, I have been approached with many ideas and plans for new technologies. Most of them never pan out,” Kobayashi said. “Penteo, however, is here to stay. I am looking forward to building a world-class company with this team. I believe this technology can change the world of entertainment audio as we know it.”

Tom Kobayashi’s professional experience spans over thirty years in the motion picture and television industry. Most notably he served for more than two decades as VP, then President and Chief Operating Officer of Glen Glenn sound, a major motion picture sound production company in Hollywood. He then went on to work with George Lucas, serving as Vice President and General Manager of Skywalker Sound, the post production division of LucasArts/Lucasfilm Ltd. at Skywalker Ranch in Northern California.

In 1993, with George Lucas' blessing, Tom utilized the technology first developed at Skywalker to found a new company, Entertainment Digital Network (EDnet, Inc.) where he served as chairman and CEO until 2000.

“Tom Kobayashi is, without question, the perfect fit to help take Penteo to the next level,” Wheeler said.
