Crescent State Bank Sponsors 2009 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Softball Tournament

Cary, NC, June 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Michael G. Carlton, president of Crescent State Bank (www.crescentstatebank.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of Crescent Financial Corporation, (NASDAQ Global MarketSM), has announced the bank’s sponsorship of the 2009 Triangle Historically Black Colleges and Universities Annual Alumni Coed Softball Tournament held on May 30 at the Parrish Womble Park located at 1201 Grigsby Ave. in Holly Springs, N.C.

The tournament was held to promote awareness of HBCUs in the Triangle area and promote fellowship among alumni. Participants had to be a graduate of one of the eight chapters participating which include Saint Augustine’s College, Elizabeth City State University, Winston-Salem State University, Shaw University, North Carolina A&T State University and North Carolina Central University.

“We are pleased to support the 2009 HBCU Alumni Softball Tournament,” said Carlton. “Building relationships is important to Crescent, and the tournament presents a great opportunity for HBCU alumni to maintain strong relationships.”
