Banque CIC (Suisse) Extends the Usage of GAIN Data Management for Feeding the Avaloq Banking System

New York, NY, June 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- AIM Software, a global provider of reference data management solutions to the financial industry, and Banque CIC (Suisse), a leading Swiss full-service bank, today announced the successful upgrade of Banque CIC (Suisse)’s existing GAIN Data Management platform for an enhanced processing of SIX Telekurs VDF data in Avaloq via the certified GAIN|Avaloq adapter.

Banque CIC (Suisse), a leading Swiss bank for private and business clients headquartered in Basel, has been relying on AIM Software’s GAIN Data Management platform since 2002 for the processing and reporting of data from SIX Telekurs. In order to increase the efficiency and to reduce manual interaction, Banque CIC (Suisse) (www.cic.ch) decided to extend its existing data management platform to automate the opening of financial instruments and the delivery of basic data from SIX Telekurs, while aiming to further increase the quality of the data.

“Given our positive experience with GAIN Data Management in the past and its strong track record in the Avaloq community, we have chosen to extend our existing GAIN platform. Thus, we can make even better use of the data feed information,” explains Geert van Eijnatten, project manager at Banque CIC (Suisse). “With GAIN and the certified GAIN | Avaloq adapter we can rely on an out of the box standard reference data management solution that still allows for flexible customization.”

Whenever a bank adds a new instrument to its portfolio, it must first be opened in the core banking application. The request for the opening may either come from the trading room, a relationship manager or any other de-partment. The automatic opening feature of GAIN delivers all necessary fields available from SIX Telekurs without manual intervention. This ensures time and cost savings for Banque CIC (Suisse) and reduces the risk of flawed inputs.

In the course of the project, which went live mid 2008, AIM Software (www.aimsoftware.com) installed the certified GAIN | Avaloq adapter and customized the solution to Banque CIC (Suisse)’s needs. By relying on the standard adapter, Banque CIC (Suisse) is now able to retrieve and process SIX Telekurs data automatically that previously had to be entered manually. Moreover, the customer can now bank on extended data coverage and quality checked data owing to custom tailored business logic in GAIN.

The modular approach of the GAIN Data Management platform allows customers to keep their reference data management solution extensible at all times. Thus, GAIN permits Banque CIC (Suisse) to take in further functionalities of other modules of GAIN whenever the need arises.

Over the last few years, the development of GAIN has been fully aligned with the evolution of the Avaloq Banking System. Martin Buchberger, Head of Marketing and Sales at AIM Software, explains: “The long-term cooperation between Avaloq and AIM Software has resulted in a fully tested and certified GAIN |Avaloq adapter, which is an important milestone for us. By working closely together with our customers we get valuable input for the further enhancement of the GAIN platform and the certified GAIN | Avaloq adapter, which helps us to keep our product future-proof.”
