Book Teaches Children Parental Appreciation Through Illustrated Story

Author Kristy Tolley introduces fully illustrated children's book, The Mommy Interviews, a story of a little girl named Lucy who decides she wants to interview moms for a new one only to realize that finding one better than hers won't be so easy.

Charlotte, NC, June 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In The Mommy Interviews, Lucy takes up the challenge of finding a new mom who might be a bit more suitable to her. Maybe a mom who would let her have more snacks or a mom who would let her paint the dog's toenails. However, during the process, she realizes just how difficult the task is.

Kristy Tolley's oldest daughter, whom was 4 years old at the time, got mad at her one day and basically said the same thing as Lucy says in the book. After her daughter stormed up the steps, she began forming a "what if I called her bluff" kind of story. Kristy wrote the story and shared it with a few friends who promptly encouraged her to try and get it published.

Although currently living in Charlotte, NC, Kristy grew up in a small town - Hamlin, WV. Kristy loved being raised in the country. Tree climbing, mountain hiking, and bike riding filled the summer days. Kristy wants that simple life for her family and tries to encourage it.

From the author concerning writing: "I would say never give up. I sent my book out for three years and just kept going. I was always optimistic that someone would finally say yes. When I do book signings, I meet lots of artists and writers who are trying to get their work out there. I hope I'm able to encourage them not to give up. There are so many talented people out there. I feel blessed to get to meet them."

"Humorous adage of a mother and daughter. Any parent can relate to his heart-warming story and will want to read it to their own children repeatedly. I would recommend this book to anyone who can or wants to relate to a child's viewpoint." -- Christie M. Preston

"Lucy is the newest member of the Mommy Appreciation Society after learning just how great her own mommy is in Kristy Stratton-Tolley's new children's book. Sweet, but not saccharine, The Mommy Interviews delivers a wonderful message about a mother's love and the joys of dancing to Rosemary Clooney songs." -- Tabitha D. Black
