Organizing for a Wave of New Homebuyers

Freedom Debt Management in collaboration with the Palm Beach County Affordable Housing collaborative will participate in a Homebuyer Workshop in preparation for Neighborhood Stabilization home purchase activity.

Boynton Beach, FL, June 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- We've heard time and again that the country is in an economic crisis. Employment is down and foreclosures are up as are gas prices. Much of this has been attributed to the foreclosure crisis which was sparked by the bursting of the housing bubble. Well the good news is thanks to the Neighborhood Stabilization Program a new wave of home purchase activity will be soon amongst us. The NSP is an initiative established for the purpose of stabilizing communities which have suffered from foreclosures and abandonment. Through the program, local governments and non profits will purchase foreclosed properties, rehabilitate them (if necessary), and sell to low and moderate income families.

Understanding that there's an 8 hour homebuyer education requirement prior to the purchase of these homes, Freedom Debt Management plans to be on the front lines offering counseling and education services through partnership with the Palm Beach County Affordable Housing Collaborative and the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County. Participation in collaborative sponsored events such as the Housing Solutions Workshop & Fair is a first step in promoting homebuyer education to our communities. This free event will be held at the United Way building of Palm Beach County in Boynton Beach, FL Saturday, June 27 from 10am to 2pm. There will be various workshops provided to include; Preparing for Homeownership, Financing Resources, and the First-time Homebuyer Tax Credit. FDM will be available to provide free information on budgeting, credit, and preparing for homeownership. Other vendors will include credit counseling agencies, Realtors, lenders and mortgage companies, and other nonprofit organizations.

Freedom Debt Management is a nonprofit, 501c3 community service organization. We provide free budget, credit, debt, and homeownership counseling services. For more information please call (800) 801-1915.
