Bridgeport, MI, June 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Amigo Mobility International, Inc. is pleased to announce that Beth Thieme, CEO/VP, was named a 2009 “Top Women in Grocery” by Progressive Grocer Magazine.

Selection for the Top Women in Grocery list is a meticulous process based on nominations from within the industry and on strict criteria set out by Progressive Grocer’s team of editors. “We received more than 400 entries and it was very difficult to select the top 100,” said Olivia Wilson, publisher of Progressive Grocer. “They are all very deserving in one way or another.”

Last year, Thieme drove a 52 percent sales increase for the company and added new domestic and international accounts. As Amigo Mobility has been Improving Lives Through Mobility® since 1968, Thieme has also worked in her own ways to make her community a better place. She is a chairwoman of Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch, which she created in 1997 to raise awareness of frivolous lawsuits and their cost to society. She is also a board member of Guardian Angels Respite Center, and has participated in the MS Society’s annual MS Walk for more than 10 years and lectors weekly at her church.

President of M-LAW, Bob Dorigo Jones says, “As a manufacturer of mobility carts that aide the people with disabilities, Beth has made the shopping experience much more enjoyable, and in some cases even possible, for thousands of people around the world.”

Thieme and fellow nominees appear in the June/July 2009 issue of Progressive Grocer magazine and will be honored on November 2, 2009 at Progressive Grocer’s Corporate Social Responsibility Awards, which will be held during the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) Merchandising, Sales, and Marketing Conference at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, Ariz.

“Congratulations go out to all of these extraordinary women who have made substantial strides in the grocery industry, paving the way for the next generation of businesswomen,” said Wilson.
