Annual Fundraiser for Palomita Education Fund Shines in Tough Economy

Second Annual Piensa Mas Alla…, Think Beyond Charity Event Great Success

San Rafael, CA, July 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Palomita Education Fund’s charitable efforts again put a spotlight on the education and creativity of the Latino Community. The second annual Piensa Mas Alla… Think Beyond…event drew over 300 VIPs of the Latino and Bay Area community together including pop singer Tyna Q and Miss Teen California Latina and Miss California Latina in celebration and support of fashion, art and Latino culture on May 29th, 2009 in San Francisco. It was a festive evening celebrating creative expression while raising thousands of dollars, through an amazing raffle as well as silent and live auctions. After their pink carpet arrival, guests sipped on Tommy Bahama Rum cocktails, Amate tequila, Frias rose wine and Corona beer while enjoying traditional Mexican hors d’oeuvres from Casa Sanchez. The delicious food was topped off with chocolate truffles from local chocolatier, Belinda Quintanilla. The cocktail hour was followed by a fashion show and live auction where guests bid for their favorite one-of-a kind celebrity-designed and autographed, special-edition tees.

The celebrity designs were a big hit! The theme this year was “What is your passion? Ours is Education” Top selling celebrity designs for the Palomita brand included: actress Eva Longoria Parker’s “LOVE” tee, actress Raquel Welch’s “GATITA” tee; singer Christina Milian’s “ENTERTAINMENT” tee; and actress Rosario Dawson’s whimsical environmental “TREE GIRL” tee. Top selling celebrity designs for the Chucho® brand included actor Andy Garcia’s “DIRECTOR” tee; football star Tony Romo’s “FOOTBALL” Tee, as well as football star Tony Gonzalez’ “NUTRITION” tee and dog trainer Cesar Millians’ “POST A MESSAGE” tee. Some of the other celebrity designed tees will be taken “off the runway” and placed online at CMarket.com, making them available for e-bidding and further community participation in the Palomita Education Fund during the month of July 2009. Replicas of the celebrity designed tees “Beca Series” will be available for a limited time, online at www.palomitaclothing.com. Fifty percent of all sales of these limited “Beca Series” tees will go towards the Fund.
