Link Shuttle Inc. Launches New Locallink® Transportation Service in San Diego

Leading Shuttle Service Offers Practical, Affordable & Safe Transportation Alternative to Area Attractions, Entertainment Destinations & Conventions Throughout the County

San Diego, CA, July 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Ben Macias, Director of Operations for Link Shuttle Inc., today announced the launch of LocalLink®, a new safe and affordable lifestyle transportation service that, like Taxicabs, will shuttle passengers to and from their destinations of choice anywhere in San Diego County. The launch of LocalLink is a three-fold effort to: 1) help reduce the city’s overall carbon footprint by cutting down the number of transport vehicles on San Diego’s busy streets; 2) provide a sensible transportation alternative for up to 30 passengers per vehicle at a time traveling to and from anywhere in the County that won’t break the bank; and 3) promote responsibility and, more importantly safety, to San Diego’s entertainment, nightlife and party revelers who shouldn’t be behind the wheel. To kick-off the new service, starting this weekend Link has partnered with The Local in Downtown San Diego and The Open Bar in Pacific Beach to offer roundtrip shuttle service between each location at the top of every hour between 8PM and 1AM on Fridays and Saturdays through the summer for just $10 per passenger.

The principal purpose of Link’s new LocalLink service is to provide a sensible, affordable leisure destination transportation option that is as easy to access as a taxi, yet provides benefits beyond mere on-call, pick-up or drop-off availability. Now, a simple phone call to LocalLink will allow individuals, friends, groups and groups of individuals (ride shares) to be shuttled to and from their destination of choice with the convenience of a taxi, the capacity of a limo bus and the affordability of public transit, all while helping minimize traffic and the greenhouse gasses emitted by taking multiple vehicles to a single destination.

With roundtrip rates starting as low as $10 per person, LocalLink’s service area runs from the border to Camp Pendleton and all parts east and west of the city. Their fleet of comfortable, reliable multi-passenger vehicles provides affordable and convenient pre-reserved and on-call transportation to and from any location such as: the airport, hotels, residences, events, nightclubs, the convention center, the zoo, restaurants, businesses, shops, beaches and any specific passenger requested destination within the County.

LocalLink also provides an easy leisure transportation solution for those with mobility challenges. The service’s fleet includes more than 25 specially customized shuttles and vans that can safely transport passengers in motorized chairs and wheelchairs at no additional cost. Many of Link’s vehicles are also equipped with ProCon GPS units for quick and convenient driver navigation to passengers’ specific destinations at the touch of a screen.

Link Shuttle Inc. began in the summer of 1996 as a small-scale shuttle service for university students with limited incomes and no off-campus transportation. Since then, the company has grown 10-fold, expanding both its client-base and internal operations, to become one of the leading large-scale special needs transportation providers in Southern California. Over the years, Link has provided transportation services to Budweiser, American Marketing Association, Mail Boxes Etc., Marriott, UCSD, 91X FM, Channel 933, Thunderboats, San Diego Regional Centers, San Diego Unified School District, Cajon Valley Unified School District and Poway Unified School District among many others.

“LocalLink gives consumers a practical transportation solution that makes sense in this economy,” states Macias. “This is a convenient, flexible service that simply helps people get from point A to point B – and back – efficiently and cost-effectively with limited hassles and restrictions.”

Based in San Diego, Link Shuttle Inc.’s LocalLink service provides a safe, reliable and affordable leisure transportation alternative for individuals and groups in San Diego County.
