Planet Beauty Pampered Customers at First Orange County Beauty Night

Mission Viejo, CA, July 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On Thursday June 25th, Planet Beauty held its first-ever Orange County Beauty Night to celebrate local Orange County beauty vendors and raise money for the O.C. affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The local community and Planet Beauty’s loyal customers came to nosh, mingle, shop, and experience the complimentary beauty treatments available including hair styling, hand massages, eyebrow waxing, skin and makeup consultations and more.

Newport Beach City Councilwoman Leslie Daigle presented business awards to local Orange county based beauty vendors including Irvine based Too Faced Cosmetics, as well as skin care company AminoGenesis, Bath and Body manufacturer Archipelago, luxury candle company Voluspa, and hair care companies Colure True Color Care and ghd.

Local Firefighters also sold raffle tickets to raise money for Komen OC’s Race for the Cure taking place at Fashion Island on September 27th. The prizes included a dinner for 6 people at the Firehouse, luxurious gift baskets, and gift certificates to restaurants, spas, and country clubs in Orange County. With raffle proceeds, and 10% of all merchandise sales from that evening, Planet Beauty was able to raise $1,735.00 to be donated to the Susan G. Komen Orange County affiliate in the fight against breast cancer.

The event was held at Planet Beauty's Newport Beach location at 3601 Jamboree Rd., Planet Beauty’s flagship store that opened in 1992.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure:
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G.
