30th Annual Telly Awards honor PROFILES for excellence in programming

New York, NY, July 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- NYC TV PROFILES has been selected by The Telly Awards to receive a 2009 Telly Award. Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards is the premier award that honors outstanding television programs. This is a tremendous honor within the television community, as The Telly Awards receive over 13,000 entries annually from the finest production companies and TV stations in the world. It is a remarkable achievement to be selected for this recognition, and the producers and staff of NYC TV PROFILES are thrilled to see their creative excellence and dedication to fine programming recognized by the Telly Council.

NYC TV PROFILES is produced by Quest Media Entertainment, Inc. The program premiered on NYC TV (the official network of New York City) in October of 2003. The program recently celebrated its 200th episode milestone.

NYC TV PROFILES is a unique, 30 minute one-on-one celebrity interview program hosted by Mickey Burns and co-hosted by Marlie Hall and features celebrities from all walks of the entertainment and show business world. Some of the first 200 guests included Joan Rivers, Dr. Maya Angelou, Ernest Borgnine, Joan Collins, Chuck Barris, Kathy Ireland, Mary Wilson, Frank Caliendo, Dick Cavett, Billy Rae Cyrus, Christopher Plummer, Gloria Gaynor, Mario Lopez, Joe Piscopo, Herschel Walker, Crystal Gayle and George Foreman.

Executive Producers of NYC TV PROFILES are Gary Huminy, Bill McCreary and Arick Wierson, as well as Senior Producer/Editor Moe Monty.

NYC PROFILES was honored with a Telly Award just days after celebrating their 200th episode milestone with a celebrity-studded gala at Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar at 254 West 72nd Street in New York City. Noted journalist Bill McCreary, Vice President of Quest Media Entertainment, Inc., served as emcee for the event. Numerous celebrities from film, Broadway, Hollywood and the media attended the event.

The special honoree for the event was Dr. Amiya Prasad, one of NYC’s top plastic surgeons. Other honorees included actor and artist Federico Castelluccio for his contribution to the arts, Maureen Shea for her achievements in women’s boxing, and Tito Puente Jr. for his contributions to Latin music. Performances included singing sensation Carl Thomas, who sang "The Music of Darin, Sinatra & Martin", Latin Superstar George Lamond, who performed his mega-hit cover of Journey’s "Don’t Stop Believin’", Tito Puente Jr., who introduced some of the latest cuts from his new album, "Got Mambo", and Reverse Spin Records artist China Blak.
