WBO Looks Towards India for Hosting "Top Model of the World"

The WBO is looking to host the Top Model of the World modelling pageant in India and has authorised German Business Bureau(GBB), Dubai to negotiate on its behalf, the rights to host the finale in India for the year 2009.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Luis Pitty Sagrera, President of the World Beauty Organization, (WBO) has authorized the German Business Bureau, (GBB) Dubai to negotiate on its behalf, the rights to host the “Top Model of The World” finale in India for the year 2009.

The “Top Model of The World” is the oldest and largest modeling pageant in the world and has been hosted in previous years in USA, Germany, China, Egypt and other countries. The WBO, in its ongoing efforts to maintain its status as a truly global pageant, is keen to host the event in India.

Christopher Sen, Director of GBB, is currently in Mumbai, and is meeting with interested parties. He says, “I am convinced that India, with its growing presence in the international arena, is the ideal venue for this event. India is one of the fastest growing economies, yet has one of the oldest and most diverse cultures and an air of mysticism surrounding it.”

2009 marks the 17th anniversary of the “Top Model of the World” pageant and with more than 70 contestants from 70 countries participating, promises to be the biggest ever.

The event is planned to be hosted in November or December.
