GHCA Announces New Chairman

Stockbridge, GA, July 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Only the most accomplished business professionals are considered for the position of Chairman of the Board. While this esteemed position comes with a lot of prestige, it is one of the most important roles in both for-profit and not-for-profit business. So, when Magnolia Manor President & CEO Mark R. Todd was named the 2009-2010 Chairman of the Board for the Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA), he knew he had significant tasks ahead.

Elected at the Georgia Health Care Association’s Annual Convention in Amelia Island in June, Todd officially begins duties on July 1, 2009. While the GHCA represents 346 of the 363 nursing homes in Georgia, it never loses focus of the real issue: meeting the ever-changing needs of nursing home residents. In fact, the association serves over 50,000 residents and works diligently to influence individuals within the community as well as government agencies to invest in the well being of these elderly and disabled long-term care residents. As Chairman, Todd will be responsible for the management, development and efficient operation of the board of directors while ensuring board meetings are conducted properly. “This election is an honor for me as I am eager to begin conducting meetings, surfacing issues, and gathering feedback from all long term care providers across the state so together with GHCA President Jon Howell and the Association staff we can be a leader on the issues affecting nursing home residents in Georgia. Accepting this position allows me the opportunity to grow professionally as I work with the Board to seek and develop innovative ways to better serve Georgia’s elderly and disabled,” states Todd.

For more than twenty-three years, Todd has been a valuable leader for Magnolia Manor Retirement Communities. His successes are attributed to his broad knowledge of the industry and modern approach to retirement and long-term care management. His devotion to Servant Leadership and Renaissance Living, which engages older adults in creativity through arts and culture, health and wellness, and spiritual care, demonstrates he is committed to both residents and employees. While Todd will continue serving as President & CEO of Magnolia Manor, he will extend his focus of caring for older adults across South Georgia to developing enhanced care methods to ensure nursing homes across Georgia can provide more competent and compassionate care.

Magnolia Manor is a United Methodist Ministry for older adults serving the full continuum of care with eight locations across South Georgia.
