Locals Elected to National Council

Americus, GA, April 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Two local leaders have been named to a national council for long-term care billing. Business Office Manager Sibyl Bledsoe and Accounting Manager Jamie Keefer, both of Magnolia Manor, were recently accepted as members of the American Healthtech Enhancement Council. American Healthtech provides clinical and financial software for the long-term care industry including assisted living centers, nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities.

In thirty years of working in the medical field, Bledsoe has gained much insight and knowledge in an industry where health care spending reached 2.4 trillion dollars in the United States alone in 2008 and is expected to reach 4.3 trillion by the year 2016. A graduate of Georgia Southwestern College, Bledsoe is an Americus native and has worked for Magnolia Manor for thirteen years. For Bledsoe, being accepted on the Enhancement Council meant having the distinct opportunity to share her knowledge with one of the financial software leaders in the long-term care industry. “As the Business Office Manager, I am responsible for new employee training, annual billing in-services, and the Accounts Receivable module of the software,” states Bledsoe. She continues by saying, “I applied to be a member of this council because I felt I had something to offer. As the person looked to by the corporate office for recommendations on improving the utilization of the long-term care system, I believe my experience in billing will allow me to make a substantial contribution.”

Keefer, also a graduate of Georgia Southwestern, has worked in the Accounting field for ten years. Accepting the position of Staff Accountant for Magnolia Manor nearly five years ago, she is now the Accounting Manager overseeing the bi-weekly processing of Payroll, weekly Accounts Payable, monthly General Ledger close and Financial Statements. Earning her Master’s Degree in Business Administration last year, Keefer believes her experience in problem solving and software conversion will be an asset to the council. “After undergoing several software updates that have both helped and hindered our efficiency, I feel I have many ideas and suggestions on how the software can be improved,” states Keefer. “Being accepted to the Enhancement Council is an exciting opportunity to voice my ideas in hopes American Healthtech will be able to implement them in new software packages in order to improve our overall efficiency.”

American Healthtech is one of the leading software providers in the long-term care industry. The company has been actively establishing a billing council to respond to customer business drivers. Both Bledsoe and Keefer are excited and honored to have the opportunity to help ensure American Healthtech is meeting the financial software needs of its long-term care customers, especially Magnolia Manor. Their new commitment will begin in June when American Healthtech will send both to Jackson, Mississippi for two days to begin their work on the council.

Located at 2001 South Lee Street, Magnolia Manor is the only full-care retirement community in Americus, pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. Magnolia Manor is also a United Methodist Ministry for older adults with eight locations across South Georgia.
