The MTA Announces Attendance for the World’s Largest Medical Tourism Conference is Significantly Up

Los Angeles, CA, July 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The expected attendance of the World Medical Tourism and Global Health Congress, October 26-28th, 2009 in Los Angeles is significantly larger than last year’s 1st conference. Last years conference had an estimated attendance of almost 850 attendees while this years conference is expected to draw up to 2,000 attendees.

“We have already beaten out last years statistics for registration and exhibitors by a large amount. Last year we had a total of 53 exhibitors and sponsors. This year we are still almost four months away from the conference and we have over 100 exhibitors and sponsors who have confirmed participation. The exhibition and expo hall is almost totally sold out. This year we created “country pavilions” to highlight each country promoted medical care. We also have several hundred companies that have already registered,” stated Melissa Skelton, Senior Meeting Manager.

“The Medical Tourism industry has grown many times over in the past year alone. We are very excited for this years conference and we are expecting about 200 speakers, 20 advanced educational pre-conference workshops, and almost 50 educational sessions. Even more exciting is the participation from large international insurance companies, governments and the world’s top medical tourism facilitators” said Renee-Marie Stephano, Esq, President of the Medical Tourism Association.

The World Medical Tourism and Global Health Congress is the largest medical tourism conference in the world and the only medical tourism convention and exposition in the world. The World Medical Tourism & Global Health Congress is the official conference of the Medical Tourism Association, the first non profit trade association for medical tourism and global healthcare.
