Lucky B's to Tee It Up for Spare Some of Autism

Carolina Hurricanes' Bates Battaglia and Mike Lombardo Head up a Golf Fundraiser

Raleigh, NC, July 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The founders of Lucky B’s Around the Corner, Bates Battaglia and Mike Lombardo, have announced the Lucky B’s Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Spare Some for Autism. The “Let’s Tee It Up for Spare Some for Autism tournament will be held at Pine Hollow Golf Club in Raleigh on Saturday July 25. Spare Some for Autism is a non-profit, 501c3 organization devoted to improving the quality of life for autistic children.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm. Registration begins at 12 noon. The format is “Superball.”

“We are so appreciative of Bates and Mike for putting this event together to benefit Spare Some for Autism,” said Beth Jarvis of Spare Some for Autism. “They have both been great supporters of ours, and this will mean a great deal in helping us fulfill our mission.”

Teams can still register for the tournament. The cost is $400 per team and covers golf, a boxed lunch for each player, beverages and dinner after the tournament at Lucky B’s Around the Corner, located at 609 Tucker Street in downtown Raleigh. To register, call 919-369-2742.

Jarvis also announced that plans are underway for the Spare Some for Autism Celebrity/CEO Kids Golf Challenge, presented by NBC17 and PRStreet. The event is planned for August 24th at Raleigh Country Club. Sponsorships are still available. It will be the second fundraiser conducted by SSfA this year, Spare Some for Autism raised over $18,000 at its Second Annual Celebrity/CEO Kids Bowling Challenge in April.
