Holiday at Home and Sail the High Seas This Summer at the UK's Largest Indoor Beach

Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, July 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Regional shopping destination thecentre:mk is celebrating its 30th Birthday this year and as part of the activities, Middleton Hall will be transformed into an indoor beach complete with 60 foot galleon wreck. From the 22 July – 2 September the galleon will be home to a state of the art 3-D interactive adventure where children of all ages will be able to take a journey under the ocean and interact with friendly sea creatures.

100 tons of sand which will be shipped in to Middleton Hall to create, what is hoped to be, the largest indoor beach in the UK for children to play in whilst the adults relax in deckchairs – all without the worry of the British weather! The central attraction will be a first for a shopping centre, “Captain Jack’s 3-D Film show” – an underwater adventure for children. Wearing 3-D spectacles the children will be able to search for buried treasure in the ocean depths with Captain Jack, meeting his fishy friends in an environment which is truly brought to life with state-of- the-art technology. Pricing for the show includes discounts for families (up to four people), groups (up to 10 people) and the booking of the entire galleon (up to 70 people).

Jackie Tracey, Events Manager at thecentre:mk commented, “3-D is back, you only have to look in the cinema listings to see the technology being used in films such as ‘Monster vs Aliens’, ‘Coraline’ and ‘Bolt’ from some of the largest film studios in the world. So it’s fantastic news that thecentre:mk can use the same technology to give children an interactive 3-D adventure and thanks to Captain Jack’s narration there will never be two shows the same keeping the adventure a unique magical experience for everyone.”

For those who like their entertainment a little more traditional there will be a lighthouse helter skelter, paddle boats, a carousel, 30 foot high coconut trees to climb and sandcastles to build. Photo opportunities with Captain Jack and the more traditional fun pictures to poke your head through will provide an instant memory of a day at the beach. Throughout the event there will be sandcastle competitions, Punch & Judy shows, treasure hunts around thecentre:mk.
