Habitat for Humanity Re-Store in Venice, Customer Appreciation Day a Stellar Success
Overwhelming support by local community and media exceed event expectations.
Venice, FL, July 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Venice area Habitat for Humanity Re-Store Customer Appreciation Day held on Saturday, July 18th marked the largest event turn out to-date. Over 800+ attendees enjoyed the day long festivities. SNN TV News Channel 6 was on hand to capture the excitement of the day.
“I am in awe of the support we received from the community and media,” stated Brian Dickerson, General Manager at the Re-Store. “Despite a shaky economy, sales were exceptional. The Venice Re-Store provides an excellent opportunity for the community to save money and support a local cause at the same time,” he continued.
Events held included special department store close-outs, a giant garage sale and a $200 raffle shopping spree won by customer Kathy Wilson of Venice, Florida. Plenty of food and drinks were on hand and enjoyed by all. Entertainment was provided by native group Bandana who rocked the house with their exceptional energy and music.
Habitat Re-Stores are retail outlets where quality, used and surplus building materials are sold at a fraction of normal prices. Proceeds from Re-Stores help local affiliates fund the construction of Habitat houses within the community. Many affiliates across the United States and Canada operate successful Re-Stores—some of which raise enough funds to build an additional 10 or more houses per year.
Materials sold by Habitat Re-Stores are usually donated from building supply stores, contractors, demolition crews or from individuals who wish to show their support for Habitat. In addition to raising funds, Re-Stores help the environment by rechanneling good, usable materials into use.
