New York, NY, July 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A woman adds 25 to 50 pounds during pregnancy, mostly to the middle of her body. That quickly changed weight distribution puts a strain on the lower back and core muscles. That is why it is important to exercise safely during pregnancy. Yoga also teaches ways to reduce stress that is so important for labor and delivery.

Beth Kruger will be teaching Prenatal Yoga at ISTA studio in the fall of 2009. The ISHTA studio founded by Alan Finger is at 56 East 11th Street, between Broadway and University Place,New York, NY 10003 They can be reached at 212 598.4800

Classes begin right after Labor Day.
Mondays and Thursdays 12:30-1:45pm.
There will be props and mats for you to use, or bring your own.

Prenatal yoga raises endorphin levels in the mom. These “feel good” hormones cross the placenta to soothe and relax your baby. This improves blood circulation and digestion and relieves the aches and pains of pregnancy.

Beth began her study of yoga in 2000, upon moving from Vermont to New York City. She completed her 500 hour certification with ISHTA yoga in 2004. She completed a prenatal training with NYC’s Prenatal Yoga Center, in 2008. She has also studied with Master Iyengar teacher Glenn Black, and Master Ashtanga teacher David Swenson.

Beth began teaching prenatal yoga in 2005 while pregnant with her first child. Her first daughter came along with her to teach Mommy and Me classes shortly after her birth.

Welcoming two children into her life has truly been her greatest teacher.

Beth is passionate about natural childbirth, and breastfeeding—and offers this to her students as they discover what works for their lives. She encourages her students to infuse their own practice and lives with acceptance, compassion, and patience.

Beth is now studying to become a certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator. She will complete her course work and sit for the exam in 2010.
