A Chance Meeting and a Teaching Nature Leads Marcus Eddy to Become an ActionCOACH

After a chance meeting with a fellow ActionCOACH, Marcus Eddy is proud to be a new member of the ActionCOACH firm in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Las Vegas, NV, July 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Marcus Eddy thought the last place he’d be discussing leadership, teaching others and helping people would be at a golf outing. But that’s where he met ActionCOACH Business Coach John Lankford.

“I had a chance meeting with John Lankford at a golf outing. Leadership, an ongoing interest of mine, became a discussion that lasted about an hour,” Eddy said. “Counseling, teaching and asking people to expand their mind is in my nature. I had been seeking a new direction in my life over the past few years [when we met].”

After that chance meeting with Lankford, Eddy was intrigued with the ActionCOACH franchise, founded by Brad Sugars in 1993. He met the ActionCOACH firm’s owners, Barb and Ford Kyes, and became even further inspired and awed.

“My first impression of ActionCOACH was John, Barb and Ford walking the talk,” Eddy said. “Seeking a new direction had been a paramount activity in my life over the past few years. Realizing that helping others reach their dreams is what I want to do was an epiphany.”

Eddy’s prior professional experience was in the industrial market, first as an employee, then as a company owner. The skills he gathered throughout his career allowed him to find and break into new niche markets in the thermal processing industry build, own and sell his company, and develop new systems and procedures for manufacturing the NASA and the Delta II (2) Rocket Nozzle Project.

“The school of hard knocks has a way of sticking with you,” Eddy said. “A systems approach is required to have any success in my previous industries, and will benefit my clients.”

In addition to his career accomplishments, Eddy is also involved in the Timeless Leadership Project, a project that works to bring high school-age volunteers, community leaders and veterans of the war together to form multi-generational leadership groups. The goal of these groups is to allow each diverse group to work together towards common, aligned goals.

Diversity in anything is something that attracts Eddy. “Being an ActionCOACH is interesting, fun and diverse,” he said. “It’s a beautiful way of life. I am honored to be part of such a great team. I am most excited about starting my career with this franchise because I love what I do.”

Eddy isn’t through making career accomplishments for himself. He’ll probably still live by a phrase he’s told himself time and again throughout his career and life while helping business owners with ActionCOACH.

“Dream big, plan well, walk with purpose and seek happiness in what you create,” Eddy said.
