Sussex Artists Showcased in Website Launch Creating Resource for Designers and Collectors

New scheme intended to promote local artists whilst providing a forum for the purchase of art for commercial, corporate and private use.

Sussex, United Kingdom, September 02, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Artists in Sussex are part of a new initiative being launched in the area. Creative Workshop – www.creativeworkshop.co.uk – is the brainchild of photographer James Beaton. Its purpose is to showcase local artists reproducing their work for use in interior design, commercial or corporate ventures whilst also remaining available to the private buyer.

James explains his inspiration behind the idea. “I have felt for a long time that the business world has been lacking a resource for art that directly relates to the local area. There are many new developments all over Sussex and I think there is a certain value to viewing properties and visiting buildings that feature creative skills from the area. Sussex has an enormous resource of talented artists at its disposal and the Creative Workshop website will give these artists a forum. The site will be a quick and easy way for both commercial and private art buyers to purchase affordable art which reflects the evocative Sussex landscape and imagery”.

Images are reproduced using the Giclée (pronounced jhee-clay) method, which is known for its high standard of colour accuracy. Giclée prints are an advantage to artists who do not want to mass produce their work but prefer to supply prints as requested, thus maintaining a product of quantity and quality. James continues: “The Giclée method of production is essential to our process. The reproduction of the print remains faithful to the artist’s original, as our high resolution Phase One scanning system is able to retain the finest detail and the wide format printers produce beautiful prints on fine art paper. These are virtually identical to the original but, unlike the original, are resistant to fading. This means that they are ideal for corporate or public locations, and for areas where the images may be exposed to natural light. We want to make sure that these images retain their character and beauty to be enjoyed for years to come. Most of our prints are hand signed by the artist and many are produced in Limited Editions.”

Sarah Waring is an interior designer and the inspiration behind LoveWaring ® – a company which specialises in the preparation of private homes for selling. She works with Estate Agents and private sellers all over the Southern region and has recommended the Creative Workshop website to a number of her clients. “Creative Workshop offers a service of image reproduction that can really add to a home,” she says. “It holds an incredible variety of pictures and images that will appeal to corporate and private consumers alike. From seascapes and landscapes to abstracts, there is something that will appeal to all tastes – from an individual requirement for something like a view of the Sussex Downs, to the studies of colour that might appeal to a more generic corporate style. There’s something for every interior design requirement.”

Images can be purchased on line and prices start from £45 for an A4 print.

Artists featured include Peter Waller, Michael Cruickshank, Jane Bruce, Julie Wray, Polly Faulkner-Bryant, Susan Pendered, Nick Bremer, Stephen Hawkins, James Beaton and Jo Keeling with plans to feature more artists in the future.
