Family Service’s Operation Fill-a-Backpack Drive is in Full Swing

Mt. Holly, NJ, August 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- As summer comes to an end, buses will fill up with children heading back to school. Unfortunately, many parents of children and teens in Family Service programs will simply not be able to afford new backpacks for the upcoming school year. When children return to school without even the most basic back-to-school supplies necessary for class, the results seriously impact education.

Family Service invites the community to “Fill-A-Backpack” for a child that desperately needs support. A new backpack and school supplies will give a child hope and the confidence needed to start school off on the right foot.

Operation Fill-A-Backpack donation ideas include:

Backpacks & Lunchboxes

Spiral bound & composition notebooks

Pens, pencils, erasers, pencil cases

Calculators (solar & scientific)

Crayons, markers, highlighters

Protractors, rulers

Three-ring binders w/paper

Index cards

Pocket folders

Scissors, glue sticks

Book covers

Facial tissues, anti-bact. hand sanitizer

This is also a great opportunity to involve family members, friends or co-workers. Family Service will provide all the materials needed to run drives from any location.
