)-- John Wood, president of the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® (RRAR) (www.rrar.com), announced that Caroline Shipman was promoted to communications associate within the communications department. The department recently expanded to include the new Communications & Public Relations Committee and a new website due in late 2009. In her new position, Shipman will monitor social media daily, serve as assistant editor of the quarterly REALTOR® Review e-magazine, manage the company’s new web site, coordinate external communications for the Association, generate leads on sponsorships and coordinate print and electronic design pieces. She also works very closely with the communications director, Trish Gregory Rand.
Shipman earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications with a minor in professional writing from Meredith College. She began her professional career with RRAR and prior to this promotion worked in the member services department handling event planning and assisting with all aspects of association events. She served as the Community Service Liaison for RRAR for the past three years.
