Redefining Mobile Video Recording – Seon Launches the New Explorer® MX4

Coquitlam, Canada, August 14, 2009 --( Seon Design has added to its security, safety and control product portfolio with the launch of the Explorer MX4, the most versatile and feature-packed 4-channel digital video recorder in the market.

The MX4 offers the highest resolution and frame rate combination in the market. Using MPEG-4 compression, all four channels can record simultaneously at 30 FPS with D1 (720 x 480) resolution. Designed for customers who require network capabilities, the MX4 represents the next generation DVR. Built-in dual technology allows the recording of two information streams, one designed for hi-res playback on a PC, and the other for real-time viewing over the web or GPRS network. In the event of an emergency, you can access the video on-line with your cell phone or PDA via your cell network plan to assess the situation.

The MX4 is loaded with features designed to reduce the system’s administrative requirements. A new graphical configuration user-interface makes installation quick and easy. The installer need only configure one DVR, copy the settings onto a USB stick, and download those settings to each unit. Easy to use software allows the system administrator to track vehicles and retrieve key details about an incident using video footage synchronized with mapping software, or the option of live tracking.

The MX4 enhances fleet control through features such as geo-fencing, which uses GPS technology to designate a geographic boundary for the vehicle. If the vehicle leaves this area, the system administrator will be alerted. Other special features include the wake-on alarm, which can turn the DVR on without a vehicle ignition signal in response to a vehicle break-in.

For drivers and passengers, the unit’s programmable monitor output means increased safety. This feature allows drivers to monitor events in hard to see areas in and around the vehicle in real time. They can see precisely the camera views they want to see while the DVR is recording. The DVR can also be programmed to automatically display whatever video is captured on camera in either full or quad view.

The MX4 is also easy to install thanks to Smart-Link™, Seon’s wiring consolidator. Smart-Link connects up to 11 inputs, including GPS, inertia sensor, indicator panel, panic button and speed sensor to the DVR with the benefit of only one cable. The MX4’s compact size, integrated lock box and simple mounting system also enable easy installation.
