Cheyenne, WY, August 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Leading green colocation and managed services provider, Green House Data, announced today that its wind-powered cloud hosting platform was chosen by Zerista to house their next generation event software platform. Zerista, a software as a service company, selected Green House’s green data center facility specifically to decrease their carbon emissions while simultaneously improving their server availability.

Zerista’s software is used by many leading conferences and trade shows to extend their events online before, during and after the live event. Tens of thousands of attendees and exhibitors rely on the software to improve their event networking and productivity. Events leveraging the software include the Drug Discovery Week, Cleantech Forum and the Great American Beer Festival.

By moving from a traditional data center’s managed dedicated server platform to Green House Data’s cloud computing platform Zerista lowered its CO2 emissions by 19,500 lbs. per year and total power consumption to a mere 1,200kwH per year. The move into a wind powered data center effectively dropped their server-based carbon footprint to zero.

“Our company’s vision is to change the way the world meets. A key part of that is making events more sustainable. Our software reduces event-related printing by making significantly more information available online,” said John Kanarowski, Zerista’s President. “Moreover, by running our platform with Green House Data, we are substantially reducing the carbon footprint of our power consumption. Our clients benefit from a greener event.”

“As a cloud hosting provider it is very gratifying to be able to delivery exactly what our customers are looking for: a highly reliable solution, excellent ROI, and no negative impact on the environment,” remarked Shawn Mills, president at Green House Data. “We are pleased to see that our wind powered green data center is being adopted across the country by great software as a service companies like Zerista.”
