Acquire Offers New Rental and Server Options

Acquire reacts to customer demand and offers more choice by providing multiple pricing options.

Leicester, United Kingdom, August 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Due to the fluctuating and evolving nature of the digital signage market and the endless ‘feature creep’ requests, Acquire has continually striven to provide the most flexible solutions in order to maximize product value and minimize product development times. With so many different models available, some suppliers’ pricing has become almost as complicated as the products themselves. Acquire is now trying to take steps to remedy the situation. But not by simplifying the pricing to make life easier for themselves but by offering what the customer wants.

Over the last six years or so Acquire has developed a very successful business using client based software and a secure and robust multicast deployment technology called the PLUS! Network. As the digital signage market expanded outside of the retail segment, customers wanted software they could buy which did not carry a monthly management or support fee, so Acquire developed its FTP style Point2Point deployment technology.

The other main technology/pricing offerings in the market are SaaS and Server based. SaaS being a web server based monthly payment model whereby the customer effectively rents the solution without ever having an opportunity to own it. Acquire’s rental model is in direct competition with SaaS.

“Customers can choose to rent the entire solution in the same way they would a SaaS solution but they have the option to purchase the software at any time. The rental model is also a good way for customers to evaluate the software for an extended period or even run a pilot or trial” explained Paul Mayer (Sales & Marketing Manager at Working Solutions).

The server based model involves the customer purchasing a software server license so that they can effectively control their own network. There are, of course, advantages and disadvantages to these different models but because Acquire is client based software that runs over a network and connects to remote servers i.e. the PLUS! Network, it can ‘tick all of the right boxes’ when it comes to providing solutions for either digital signage or kiosk based networks.

“When customers calculate the total cost of buying servers and supporting their network they can understand the reason why the PLUS! Network exists” added Neil Farr (MD of Working Solutions)
