San Mateo County Foreclosures are Not Great Deals

Seminar to dispel common San Mateo first time home buyer myths.

San Mateo, CA, August 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The RayChel Realty Group announced today that they will again be hosting their Home Buying Workshop for First Time Home Buyers in San Mateo County.

“Many first time buyers have misconceptions about the market that cause them to waste time and money. For example, foreclosure properties in San Mateo County have averaged 98.7% of their list prices, while other homes averaged 92.3% of their list price – yet many of my first time clients insist on only looking at foreclosure properties, even when other well-priced properties are available,” says Raymond Stoklosa, owner and Managing Broker of The RayChel Realty Group and seminar co-host.

“The most common misconception that I see among first time home buyers is that it is impossible to qualify for a loan,” says Chris Williamson, a mortgage broker with Mortgage California in San Mateo and seminar co-host, “but that is actually not the case. Lenders still making loans to credit-worthy buyers with at least 3.5% to put down. In fact, with current interest rates being so favorable, now is a great time to be in the market.”

The seminar will focus on dispelling some of the most common myths in real estate and illustrating many under-the-radar programs that are currently available.

Topics will include:

Why foreclosures and short sales are not necessarily the best deals on the market
When stated income home loans will be available
How to participate in the first time home buyer tax credit program
What properties not to buy

The seminar will take place on Saturday, September 12th from 10am to 12pm at 1700 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo. Registration is free, but space is limited so sign ups are required. To sign up, please visit http://budurl.com/buyerclasses or call (650) 655-2500.
