Comedy Night at the Wellness Community Featuring Comedy Central Alum Louis Ashamallah

Westlake Village, CA, August 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A free Comedy Night for people affected by cancer with featured performer Louis Ashamallah will be held Monday, September 14, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village. The monthly Comedy Night series is made possible by funds raised at the Stand Up for Cancer Survivors fundraiser held in 2008. Louis Ashamallah is a business professional by day and stand-up comedian by night. The proceeds from his comedy shows are donated to a variety of healthcare-related charities. Louis’ credits include reaching the semi-finals in a national Comedy Central competition, being featured on the Good Day L.A. morning show, and opening for Jay Leno at the Bally’s Hotel in Las Vegas for an audience of over 2,000 people.

Founded in 1982, The Wellness Community is an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones at over 100 locations worldwide including 24 U.S.-based and 2 international centers with 73 satellite and off-site programs. Through participation in professionally-led support groups, educational workshops, nutrition and exercise programs, and stress-reduction classes, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of their disease.
