Mitsubishi Plastics Composites America, Inc. (a division of Mitsubishi Plastics) and RedVector.com have partnered to create an interactive online course that introduces commercial architects and designers to Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) and Metal Composite Material (MCM). “Design and Specification of ACM/MCM in Today’s Architecture” offers basic instruction in the use of these products and details its numerous applications in a built environment.

The course teaches students how ACM/MCM can be specified for external wall claddings, building facade, ceiling and other various applications. Using a variety of interactive graphics, engaging activities, and top-notch photographs, it explains why these materials are increasingly chosen for the cladding of building exteriors, entryways, canopies, soffits, and fascias; and illustrates the wide variety of colors and finishes. The trend to natural surfaces and the durability of projects using natural materials as cladding are detailed, with an examination of the advantages of ACM and of stainless steel, titanium, and copper composite alternatives.

The course will help students understand the construction of ACM/MCM, identify the types of paint systems, discuss the different types of ACM/MCM attachment systems, and define the cost impacts of ACM/MCM.

“RedVector is excited to help manufacturers like Mitsubishi Plastics reach the building industry through high-quality, interactive online education,” says Mike Vandall, Executive VP of Business Development. “Specifying architects, engineers, and contractors will come away with a better understanding of these exciting materials, and have Mitsubishi Plastics to thank for it.”

“Design and Specification of ACM/MCM in Today’s Architecture” is offered to new customers of RedVector.com free.
