Merced Irrigation District, CA Upgrades to MS Govern Under Harris’ Software for Life Policy

Saint Louis, MO, August 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Management Solutions for Government (MS Govern), a division of Harris Computer Systems, is pleased to announce the addition of Merced Irrigation District to its growing number of customers in California. The District has purchased the Human Resources Management System; the Purchasing and General Ledger suites of MS Govern’s Financial package; Centralized Cash Receipts; and the Employee Self Service Portal. These modules will allow the District to better meet the needs of their 68, 255 constituents.

Merced Irrigation District (MID) owns, operates and maintains the New Exchequer and McSwain dams, reservoirs, and hydroelectric facilities. These are the District’s primary water storage facilities located on the Merced River, in the foothills on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. In addition, Merced Irrigation District owns, operates and maintains five recreation areas adjacent to the lakes behind these dams, including Lake McClure & Lake McSwain, which are situated below Yosemite National Park in Mariposa County.

Merced Irrigation District has been a Harris customer since 2000 and will migrate to MS Govern under Harris’ Software for Life policy. “The ease of use and product integration were key elements in our decision to upgrade to MS Govern,” remarked Merced Irrigation District’s Chief Financial Officer, Andre Urquidez. “We were able to benefit from a great product while still remaining cost efficient.”
