Inc. Magazine Ranks Logical Images in Top 25% of Fastest-Growing US Private Companies

Company named number 1095 on Inc. magazine's annual list, with 3-year sales growth of 285%

Rochester, NY, September 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Logical Images Inc., the expert source for professional visual diagnostic decision support technology and consumer health information, today announced it is ranked in the top 25% on the 2009 Inc. 5000, Inc. magazine’s 2009 annual ranking of the fastest-growing private companies. Logical Images is ranked number 1,095, nearly 300 places higher than the company’s debut on the list in 2007, when it was slotted at number 1,366.

“Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know that the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate,” said Inc. 5000 project manager Jim Melloan. “That’s why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year.”

Logical Images develops health care tools that elevate diagnostic accuracy, enhance medical education, and heighten patient knowledge. Its comprehensive digital medical image library includes 60,000 images that display disease in all age ranges and skin types. Using proprietary search algorithms, its products help accurately diagnose diseases, which present with a visual component. The company reports a revenue growth of 285 percent in a three-year period.

Thousands of doctors at hospitals, public health organizations, medical groups, and medical schools use Logical Images’ professional tool, VisualDx, to improve care, diagnostic accuracy, and patient outcomes. For instance, an emergency medicine physician at Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina used VisualDx to treat a 3-year-old child, who initially tested positive for a streptococcal infection. The physician used VisualDx to compare images of both streptococcal and meningococcal-induced rashes. Upon viewing images consistent with the child’s appearance, the physician quickly and accurately diagnosed the child with a meningococcal infection. The child received emergency medical treatment and survived this potentially fatal condition. VisualDx has been deployed at more than 1,000 sites including state departments of health, primary health care practices, hospitals, teaching institutions, and government agencies.

Logical Images also licenses VisualDxHealth, a targeted skin health Web resource serving more than 900,000 health care consumers every month. VisualDxHealth uses medical pictures combined with the expertise of more than 100 physician specialists to help consumers learn about specific health conditions and take a more active role in their well-being. One of the fastest growing consumer health sites on the Web, VisualDxHealth has been recognized by The New York Times and Wall Street Journal as a top consumer health site.

“We are honored to be recognized once again by Inc. magazine. Being ranked in this list highlights the value that our products bring to health care organizations, physicians, and patients. With a national focus on improving health care quality and cost through technology, we look forward to partnering with other health care companies for continued growth,” said Richard Cohan, CEO of Logical Images. “Our inclusion validates our role as health care innovators and reflects our passion for helping to improve care for everyone.”
